SONNY is a 13 week old English Mastiff puppy. He is super sweet and playful as puppies are. The tip of his tail was bitten off but has healed well. He is being fostered in Chambersburg, PA. He will go out on a "foster to adopt" contract with full ownership after spay is done by adopter. His sister is fostered in the same house and is also posted under CHER. He also needs companionship -- lots of it every day. To ensure a stable, confident temperament, Old English Mastiffs need earlier and more frequent socialization than many other breeds, and it should continue throughout his life. Most Old English Mastiffs are polite with everyone, but there is timidity and extreme shyness in some lines, and aggression in others. Watchfulness should be discouraged, as it is best for all concerned if the Mastiff intimidates by size alone, rather than by behavior. Though mildly stubborn, this good-natured dog responds well to patient obedience training. They snore, drool, and slobber -- and are not for people who must have a tidy household. Fostered in Charlestown, WV. Adoption donation $350 Important notes before applying. Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky.
