Adoption Fee will be discussed at the time of adoption. HEADLINER: “Rip”-5 year old Mastiff boy in search of wonderful home. As of 8/2025, being fostered in OKC, Oklahoma. In mid-September, will be fostered in central Florida. HISTORY: Former breeding dog, surrendered to local shelter by the breeder after retirement PERSONALITY: Affectionate, playful, good watch dog FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: loves stuffed toys, big bones and playing tug of war with his ropes; likes to be close by his people while watching TV or on the computer. Sleeps at your feet. MEDICAL ISSUES: None. All vaccinations up to date. Neutered. Last vet exam and heartworm test August 2025. On monthly preventative. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Adults, just because he occasionally jumps up if he gets excited. Low key household without lots of people coming and going. He’s kind of a homebody dog. Likes to play in his fenced in yard and then stay inside with his people. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Loves food and treats. Current weight is 150-155 pounds, which is okay per the vet. Have to monitor his food or he’ll put on weight. Sleeps-Can sleep in his crate without an issue or sleeps on the bed, if allowed. Do not leave trash cans out or food on the counter when you leave, or he’ll get into it. Can be crated for as long as needed during the day. Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.
To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.
