HEADLINER: Princess Peach HISTORY: Peach was found wandering by a Good Samaritan. She was microchipped, owners had given her away and new owner never returned messages. She was not reported missing and was held for stray hold. Her eye was removed due to an old injury after coming in to foster care. PERSONALITY: As most French Bulldogs, Peach has a fluid temperament. She very much responds to things with the energy she is presented with. She is outgoing and a great watch dog. She knows there are rules but if she doesn’t feel like following them, she doesn’t. Friendly with all people, definitely prefers to be your personal assistant all day, every day. Peach has done well with my dog savvy cat, may chase one if it was reactive but is not aggressive and easily can be redirected. She has done well around chickens. She doesn’t trust horses and will endlessly bark obscenely in their direction. As for dogs, she LOVES her young Boxer brother. They play all day, sharing toys and bones and gnawing on each others appendages. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t tell him off whenever she feels like it, she definitely does. She has 2 other large male foster brothers. She is completely indifferent to one and torments the other. Peach is dog selective and will start a fight with a dog she doesn’t like. She has not met any female dogs at this point. The foster brother she doesn’t like is very sweet and passive. It’s a mystery as to why she dislikes him so much. She prefers to not be alone outside or she will not do her “business”. True to her breed she will potty in the house if she feels like it. This is infrequent, maybe one time a week but it is obvious she was not given clear directions on this in her previous homes. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Peach loves to play with her best friend Gordy the Boxer puppy. She is a fabulous snuggler and supervisor of any projects you may choose to take on. Also, Peach gets a fair amount of enjoyment pulling her humans hair. She will definitely stand on top of you to hold you down and happily yank as much hair as she can. She is not above a sneak attack either. MEDICAL ISSUES: No known medical conditions. However being a French Bulldog please educate yourself on Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), the breed is HIGHLY prone to this issue. Also this breed needs special consideration in heat because they are unable to regulate their body temperature like other breeds that do not have flat faces. She is not a candidate for long walks. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Given Peach’s dog selective behavior, it would be easier for her to go in to a home with no other dogs. She is capable of having a good relationship with a dog that she likes which seems to be a dog that is confident and non-reactive to another dog’s “snarky attitude”. Basically she needs a chill dog friend if she is to have one, and definitely needs to meet that dog prior to adoption. She does fine in a crate as long as you make sure she has done ALL her “business” before being crated. She loves people A LOT, so she would really like to be included and smooched as much as possible. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS : Breed experience would be a big plus for Peach.
