English Mastiff (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : X-Large
Bruiser would love to be your new best friend. He wants nothing more than to spend time with people and dogs. He’s game for just about everything - except taking a bath. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, going for a walk, or chewing on toys, Bruiser just wants to be by your side. He is a curious puppy who is learning house rules and is food motivated. Likes: Bruiser likes to cuddle with his foster family - humans and dogs alike. He likes chew toys, tug a war, and is learning to play fetch. Bruiser likes going on walks and chasing squirrels. He LOVES mealtime and treats. Dislikes: Bathtime! Personality: Bruiser is extremely friendly. He wags his tail when someone comes in the room or makes eye contact. Bruiser loves meeting new humans (and dogs) and is learning that not every human wants to be hugged when they first meet him. He is a curious puppy and is learning what is acceptable and what isn’t. He responds well to verbal cues. Temperament: Bruiser is a super friendly, easy going dog. Energy level: Low to medium. He likes to cuddle most of the time. Throughout the day Bruiser enjoys chewing on toys and playing out in the yard with the other dogs in his foster home. Favorite activities: Eating, cuddling, chewing on toys. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Dogs: Bruiser loves the 3 dogs in his foster home. (a female Neapolitan Mastiff, a male Dogue de Bordeaux, and a male Great Dane.) Cats & kids-untested Housetrained: Yes, but he is still a puppy and has accidents. Crate trained: Yes, but he doesn’t choose to ever go in his crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Bruiser needs a fence because he likes chasing squirrels. Although he likes going on walks he enjoys being able to run around. Walks well on a leash? Yes, but he is still in training. Challenges: Bruiser is a wonderful pup but he is still learning house rules. He is very curious and doesn’t know boundaries yet. He responds well to warnings but needs someone who can continue the progress he’s made. Any Medical issues? Bruiser has juvenile glaucoma and is blind in one eye. His condition is stable and doesn’t require ongoing care. Bruiser’s blind eye doesn’t slow him down. He easily goes up and down stairs and enjoys fetch. What would be the best kind of home? Bruiser would do best in a home where he has plenty of opportunity to cuddle and play with humans and other dogs. He would love a home with a medium to large, fenced yard so he can run and explore. Bruiser needs someone who has the time to continue basic training.
