STASSI IS A COURTESY POST LOCATED NEAR COLUMBUS, OH. Stassi (pronounced Stah-see) is an approximately 1 year old brindle English Mastiff. She is roughly 105 lbs, fully vetted and up to date on vaccines, and spayed with a gastroplexy. Likes: Treats, chew bones, stuffy toys, belly scratches, and cuddling. Dislikes: Stassi is not fond of loud sounds - she is easily startled. And carrots! She doesn't like carrots! Personality: She is goofy, loves her people/family, likes to play, and is friendly and happy. Temperament: Docile, shy, loving, and, affectionate, Energy Level: Stassi is pretty low-key. She enjoys walks and playtime but can also be a couch potato. Favorite Activities: Walking, snuggling, and eating. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)? Yes to all! She loves to play with any animal and is good with all ages of kids. Not good with: She can take a little time to warm up to men. She is not aggressive and doesn't bark, but can be very shy. Housetrained? Ultimately, yes. She has difficulty holding it for longer stretches of time. She was kept in a crate until 8-9 months of age without house training. She has picked up on it quickly but still has the occasional accident. Crate trained? No Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Unsure as she is always leash walked or on a tie-out. Challenges: She needs to continue working on her confidence and housetraining. She is learning boundaries with "counter surfing" and people food. Any medical issues? Nothing chronic. She is missing a toe on her back left paw - unsure how or why. What would be the best kind of home? Stassi needs a home full of love, comfort, and patience. She was taken from a neglect situation when she was approximately 8-9 months old. She had never been housetrained, was only given table scraps, and stayed in a crate for 12-15 hours a day. She is still building her trust and confidence. She needs a family that can understand her background, work with her challenges, and love her through them. Ideally, she needs people who can be home with her often to start. A family or person that likes to be outdoors and let her be social as well. And someone who can spoil her! She deserves and needs the whole package. :)
