Bree will have her cherry eye repaired in November and be recuperated by December to be some lucky human’s best girl ever.

Brief description:

 Current Age: Approximately 3 yo
 Microchipped: yes

Bree is a gentle giant rescued from an unspeakable situation yet holds no grudge. Bree loves every person and animal she meets. She is unphased by her past and is a huge lovebug. She wants to be with her person(s) all the time. She can play gentle with her little foster brothers and rough house with her big foster brother but is also content to lay at your feet with a stuffy and wag her little tail. She even likes her feline foster brother and is very gentle and protective of him. She is submissive and will show her belly immediately, but do not be fooled - she is one bossy lady when she wants to be!! Her foster mom can not wait to get home every day to get lovies and see her little tail wag and her wiggle butt. She is an absolute joy to be around. She lacks a little confidence, but is becoming more confident every day!

Likes: EVERYTHING!! Bree loves people and all other animals. Very food driven and loves toys and blankies. She loves attention and will hug you if you let her. She will follow her humans every move. She loves treats, lick mats and ice cubes.

Dislikes: Being left alone and the crate are her only two dislikes. She has mild separation anxiety and may show that by chewing something other than her toys until she is comfortable knowing you will be back.

Personality: Happy! Always excited to greet anyone - responds calmer without jumping if you get down to her sitting level. She is 100% a Velcro dog and aims to please her humans. She takes in her surroundings with no judgement and is an equal opportunity wiggle butt for pets and treats. No resource guarding or food issues. She is by far the most mellow girl and will splay herself on the floor, looking like her huge jowls have melted onto the floor and give you puppy dog eyes and is just happy to be with you!

Temperament: Super smart, very laid back, will not leave your side or the yard even when there is a bunny! Bree is loyal, easy going and so affectionate and eager to please. Not a mean bone in her body! Happy all the time and very low maintenance.

Energy level: Couch potato. Will play and do zoomies with another dog, but otherwise she is basically a speed bump at your feet all day every day.

Favorite activities: Resting her huge head in your lap, getting treats, squeaking her stuffies, ear rubs and belly rubs, meals, chasing toads and butterflies, and rough housing with her foster brother (for maybe 10 minutes before she needs a rest!). Bree acts like every thing she sees and does is a new adventure.

Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Yes, but she does not know her size and may knock a child (or her foster mom) over.

Not good with: Being left alone, not being in the same room as her people when they are home. The crate is her nemesis and she is not a fan of the vacuum.

Housetrained: This is a work in progress- she will need an experienced owner to help her get to 100% house trained. She may have never lived in a home before her foster home. As of now she still does not make it through the whole night and has an occasional accident when left home alone. At this time she does not ask to go out, and even with a rigid schedule has an occasional accident- she is not pad trained, but will treat a towel like a pad.

Crate trained: No - it is doubtful Bree will ever take to a crate. She has gotten out of or destroyed every crate her foster mom and dad tried. It causes her great anxiety so Bree would do best in a crate free home. She is respectful of gates and does not try to push or go over them. She will go in a crate and stay there if you are in the room- but once you are out of sight she is terrified and the antics begin.

Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Nope! This girl would not leave her human for all the bacon or cheese in the world. Has perfect recall even though she isn’t more than 5-8 feet from you at any given time. She will be fine with or without a fence.

Walks well on a leash? Her foster mom thinks she is better off lead, on lead she will trip you and might pull to get to any human she sees. She wears a martingale color and responds well to a slight tug and “wait” command. She doesn’t love having the leash put on.

Challenges: Bree needs some basic manners. She has mastered sit, touch, look and find it, but would benefit from some basic training which will boost her confidence as well. She will dumpster dive in any trash can and chew anything that smells like food was in or on it. While she does not resource guard, she will eat from any dog bowl that doesn’t have another dog’s face in it. She may have been food insecure at some point. Fortunately, her foster brothers eat faster than she does! Bree also needs some help becoming 100% house trained.

Any Medical issues? Treating for hookworm currently. Cherry eye being addressed.

What would be the best kind of home? Bree will thrive in any home but will do best with a family who has a human home all or most of the time. She is honestly the easiest dog and adapts to any lifestyle but does not like when her human is not close by. She will be fine as an only dog or with brothers and sisters - size doesn’t matter. She is a LOT of dog and has the personality to match her size. The human(s) that adopt Bree are hitting the Jackpot!!
