Description:

RAYLA IS LOCATED IN ELLICOTT CITY, MD.

Brief description: Rayla is a very loving puppy. She is super friendly with everyone  and stands still for head pets.  She is very good with both kids and adults. She is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys meeting people and dogs on her walks. She is a big, silly puppy who is pure entertainment to be with! It's wonderful to see how curious she is about everything around her. A bit timid at first, but willing to try again and again. She is really good at letting you know when people visit - everyone gets a loud bark before they get a butt wag. :)

Like: Rayla loves to lie down next to you; she is still learning that people cuddle . She is not particular about toys but really into shoes. She  is happy to just lie around inside the house or outside in the yard. She  does get the zoomies and enjoys running around with her foster brother.

Dislikes:  She hates car rides. Rayla, still being a puppy, can be carried into the car. She is working on realizing that every time she goes on a car ride she gets a treat.

Personality: Rayla  is super friendly and low maintenance. She enjoys the company of people and pets. She is very curious and observant, you can actually see her thinking  (she likes to watch the cats, the birds and the other dogs, the lawn mower, the tv, etc.). She loves to walk and explore the world with her family. She does not run away and stays close to her family.  She is very smart and is a quick learner. She is also a very good listener and responds to “no” very well. She is super easy to love.

Temperament: She is a bit shy. Definitely not an alpha. She is very submissive. Very very  friendly dog. Loves cats and dogs.

Energy level: She is a puppy. She loves to run and play. Her energy level might decrease as she grows older.

Favorite activities: She loves to run around and play with her foster brother. She does like to chew on shoes. She likes her walks. She likes her training sessions (she gets hot dogs) and she likes watching animal shows.

Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6) ?: She  is very good with kids. She is very good with cats and dogs of all sizes.

Not good with:  Nothing yet...

House-trained: Yes

Crate trained: Yes

Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and or invisible fence)?: A fenced yard would be nice for Rayla but not necessary. She likes to lie outside for long periods of time and likes to smell the garden and everything in it.

Walks well on a leash?: Yes. If she sees a dog on her walk she will try to walk up to say hi - she is learning that not everyone likes to say hi. She is a very good listener and a simple “ leave it, not today” works.

Challenges: Rayla had to learn that not all people hurt (she still cowers when you try to pet her).

Any medical issues?: None that we know of.

What would be the best kind of home?: Rayla is a puppy and would fit well into any home. She would thrive in a home that has another dog.
