SNORKY IS LOCATED IN FLEMINGTON, NJ. Snorky is 35lbs of wiggle. She is too cute! A little shy at first, if you’re standing up, but much Likes: Snorky likes sniffing out treats in the grass or finding them hidden in the house. She likes to go for walks and sniff. I spend hours explaining to people why they shouldn’t hug dogs, but Dislikes: She doesn’t like tall men she doesn’t know standing over her. Personality: Little Miss Happiness! She is always happy, her little tail goes a mile a minute. She tends to shrink if she hears someone yell, but rebounds quickly. Temperament: She just wants to be with you. She’s docile and no trouble at all. Energy level: On the low side. Snorky’s jaw bones are fused together so her mouth only opens about an inch. She also had a long palette and difficulty breathing so she had a temporary tracheotomy to reduce her palette. It greatly inproved Snorky’s ability to breath, (although she still lives up to her name and can be noisy at times), now she can go for longer walks and run more. Favorite activities: She loves to lay on a pillow in the catio for the former house cat and watch the birds and squirrels at the feeders. She loves to snuggle. She loves walks. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Cats are unknown. She has lived with Mastiffs before she arrived and does not react when people walk their dogs past. Not good with: Small children, cats. Housetrained: Yes. Will usually urinate on cue too! Crate trained: Yes. When she gets tired, she will crate herself. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Yes. Walks well on a leash? Yes. Challenges: She’s a really noisy, sloppy eater because of her jaw bone being fused, so she is confined to one area when she eats. She gets on the furniture so if that’s not ok, she’s not for you. Any Medical issues? She has the problem with her jaw, but it's under control now. Her foster is more than happy to discuss her medical history with potential adopters. What would be the best kind of home? Snorky just wants to be loved. She spent a few days with a lot of commotion over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and took it all in stride so an active home is ok, but no small children. She has had a rough life. She was found, pregnant, on the street. She had breathing problems, her ribs would go out like wings when she was winded - it was so sad. But despite all of her hardships, she has a great temperament. She is VERY hard to resist when you meet her!
