REBA IS LOCATED IN MT. VERNON, OH.

Reba, aka Tinsel, is an adorable, small, mixed breed, tri-colored, high energy, loving, smart, and very personable, work in progress looking for a place to call home.  She is a bundle of energy who loves to play but also loves to cuddle and snooze on her people during nap time.

At a young 7 months old she already knew "sit" and "wait" while getting food. The verbal command to release her to eat is ‘okay’. She's currently working on "down", and "heal"’ when on walks.  This girl is eager to find her forever home to continue to learn and show them how smart she is!

Likes: She likes Kong toys filled with treats, chew toys, playing with tug toys and she loves using puzzle bowls for meal
time.

Dislikes: Unknown loud noises and unfamiliar dogs that she has not
been able to meet. Her reaction is to run back inside and will not want to go back outside for a few minutes or until the noise/dog is gone.

Personality: Outgoing and friendly!

Temperament: Reba can be laid back and will relax when an individual is sitting and relaxing, but also is
wanting to play a lot. She loves to be right with the family, but still needs some work for her to understand that not everything around her or in an individuals hand is a toy.

Energy level: High

Favorite activities: Running, playing ball, playing with other dogs that she knows, laying beside/in lap of individual when relaxing.

Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Loves to play with other dogs, curious about cats (has not had too many interactions), would be good with kids based of of personality.

Not good with: Rugs, blanket, towels – Will chew and tear apart if not occupied with toys. She will dig and eat mulch from flower beds and flower pots if not closely watched. (She is a puppy!)

Housetrained: This is a work in progress.
She is still working on giving a signal on when she needs to go out. If she gives us the signal and we do not catch it right away she will have an accident in the house but they are becoming less and less. This will especially happen soon after playing or eating her meals. Normally she will vocalize that she needs to go outside by whining and pacing by door.

Crate trained: Yes, Reba does great overnight when crated and when left at home during the day/when individual leaves.

Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? A fenced in yard would be best to allow her to run and play freely. She may not work well with an invisible fence due to the nature of how she reacts when things scare her.

Walks well on a leash? Yes, she loves to walk and is learning how to heal beside the individual who is walking. She's using a harness but is working on learning to use a training collar. Understands the word "heal" but will get excited and wants to wander/pull ahead of the person walking her.

Challenges: Reba panics when disciplined, but is getting better with understanding what is going on when
getting disciplined and why. She is learning and doing well with the verbal command ‘no’ and that it means the behavior that was happening was not appreciated.

Any Medical issues? No. Tinsel/Reba was surrendered to her veterinarian, and transferred to MTM foster care in December 2022 because she had severe skin and ear inflammation. After weeks of following recommended treatments including weekly medicated baths, her skin and ears are healthy and clear!

What would be the best kind of home? Tinsel/Reba would love to find a family that is active and enjoys being outside, walking, hiking, and playing in the yard daily or almost daily.
