Jasmine is a beautiful 120lb female brindle mastiff. If you’re ready to have your heart stolen, consider adopting this wonderful girl!

She is exceptionally calm and loving. She is very loyal, always wanting to be by your side and travel with you in the car. She is timid with strangers at first and she prefers women over men,
but she can warm up to a calm and affectionate man. She’s a country gal at heart; urban areas are
overstimulating for her. Suburban areas are fine too.

Likes: Walks, belly rubs, ear scratches, calm dogs, and nature hikes.

Dislikes: Hyperactive dogs, urban areas, and intimidating men.

Personality: Jasmine is a big softie with a low intensity personality. She has very good manners and doesn’t like being scolded. A loud “NO” is sufficient to let her know when she’s doing something wrong. She likes to guard the house from the comfort of a porch or sofa, barking very loudly and confidently to deter interlopers. She does not play with toys, but she enjoys a large bone occasionally. She is motivated by food and attention.

Temperament: Calm, sweet, and silly. Anxious in unfamiliar situations. She is not independent -  she'd rather spend her time with you.  (Can we get an awwwwwww????)

Energy level: Moderate to low. Jasmine enjoys one or two 20 minute walks a day and some playtime in the yard.

Favorite activities: Going out for a walk, receiving pets and belly rubs, chewing a bone, and relaxing with you on the couch.

Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Jasmine likes calm dogs with good manners. She gets along with both small and large dogs, it just depends on the personality match. She is great with kids and enjoys playing with them by knocking their toys over. She lets her 6 year old foster niece give her big hugs. She has not been tested with cats, but Jasmine has such a low prey drive it is probably not an issue. She lives with a house chicken now. and was told that it was not ok to chase or mouth the chicken.  She has been very trustworthy with her, even unsupervised.

Not good with: Hyperactive or rambunctious dogs. She doesn’t like some men.

Housetrained: Yes. She is extremely reliable.

Crate trained: No. A crate has never been necessary for her, and she is not interested in using one. She sleeps on the couch when the humans aren't home.

Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?
Jasmine should be on leash if she is not in a fenced yard. While she is not much of a runner, she is a
guarder and wouldn’t hesitate to run after an animal or strange noise.

Walks well on a leash? She walks very well on a leash with a harness. She does not like having collars on her neck. Despite her size she is not a challenge to handle.

Challenges: Jasmine is timid with strangers and lacks confidence in new situations. More exposure to new people and places would help with that. She is an opportunist who will steal food or raid the pantry if left alone in the kitchen. The pantry door in her foster home has a lever type handle that she can open, so a child latch high up is used on the door when the humans leave her unattended. She also likes to “find” food on walks, so watching what she sniffs is definitely advised. She can be jealous and possessive when it comes to other dogs and her person.

Any Medical issues? She has a condition in her hind leg muscles called fibrotic myopathy. It does not cause her any pain, but it does make her rear end gait wobbly. It is more pronounced when she runs, and she can lose her balance while running sometimes. Her symptoms are mild. It may be improved with physical therapy or left alone as there is no other treatment.

JASMINE IS LOCATED IN KING OF PRUSSIA, PA.
