Dave is an adorable 16-week-old mini Golden-Doodle who is looking for a family to call his own. Likes: Dave likes toys, other dogs to play with, bones, treats, and food. Dislikes: None yet! Personality: Dave is snuggly, sweet, friendly, and playful. Temperament: No issues observed. Energy level: It’s hard to tell since he’s been on restrictions after his heart surgery, but he will definitely be a playful puppy. Favorite activities: Playing with toys, napping, chewing on his peanut butter stuffed bones, and eating. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Yes! Not good with: (Cats? Dogs? Strangers? Men? Kids?) Dave seems to be good with animals and humans alike. Housetrained?: Dave is a puppy…it’s a work in progress… Crate trained: He sleeps through the night, but still has an occasional accident during the day (partially due to his medications). Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Yes - physical fence. Walks well on a leash? Working on it! He will need to continue to learn this skill in his forever home. Challenges: Please note: Doodles mat easily and will develop sores if they are not groomed every 6 weeks. Dave is HIGH MAINTENANCE! Any Medical issues? Dave’s heart condition required surgery at the end of May 2022, but he is expected to make a full recovery! The cardiologist said he will need to be seen 3-4 months post-op, and then he will need to see a cardiologist every year for his whole life. He has a device in his heart that needs to be monitored and he might have to be on a heart medication for the foreseeable future. What would be the best kind of home? An active home with a fenced yard and patience (since he’s still a puppy). Dave loves his people & other dogs! He is super sweet & snuggly. Eats well & can self-entertain.
DAVE IS BEING FOSTERED IN COLUMBUS, OH.
