English Mastiff (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Large
Rosie is incredibly sweet, friendly, and easy going. Her favorite thing to do is to hang out next to a family member whether it’s on the couch or at a local restaurant. She is extremely friendly and loves being pet by any human she meets. She likes chew toys and will play fetch, but can usually be found relaxing. She will squeeze into tiny spaces just to cuddle next to someone. She likes to sit outside on the deck and walk around the yard. She is food motivated and has excellent house manners. She likes to be brushed and is fine being bathed and having her paws wiped. She takes medication and treats well and is not food aggressive. She rarely barks. She knows basic commands, listens well, and will come when called. Likes: Cuddles, to be around people, sitting out on the deck, chew toys, and food. Dislikes: Rosie dislikes dogs who get in her space, having her nails trimmed, and thunderstorms. Personality: Loving and gentle. Temperament: Lovable and easy-going. Energy level: Medium/low Favorite activities: Being around people, cuddling and being pet, and sitting outside. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Cats - unknown, but based on the fact that Rosie doesn’t like chickens or small dogs it’s assumed that she’s not good with cats. Dogs - Rosie does not like dogs when she first meets them. She tolerates her two foster siblings (DDB and Neo), but needs her space. It’s hard to predict with time if she would get along with another dog in her home. She would definitely not do well with an active or alpha dog. Kids - Rosie LOVES kids Not good with: Chickens and small dogs. Housetrained: Yes! Crate trained: Unknown Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Rosie has a large, fenced yard at her foster home. She has never even tried to get past the fence. She enjoys having the freedom to walk around/relax outside. Walks well on a leash? Yes Challenges: Rosie is leery of new dogs, but not aggressive. She needs space and time to feel comfortable around other dogs. On walks and at restaurants she ignores dogs. She has been within a few feet of new dogs in public places and is non-reactive. If a dog gets too close to Rosie, she will curl her lip or give a warning growl. Any Medical issues? Rosie has hormone deficiency incontinence related to her spay. She takes Proin every day. When taking the medication, she doesn’t have any incontinence issues. What would be the best kind of home? Rosie LOVES people. She is very friendly with strangers, including children, and enjoys being close to her family. She isn’t very active but enjoys being outside so a home with a yard where she can walk around and enjoying sitting outside would be nice. She likes to play fetch but after a few throws she’s ready to relax. She would do best as an only dog. ROSIE IS BEING FOSTERED IN STAFFORD, VA. Our rescue policy requires the following:
