Presa Canario (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : X-Large
Seven is a 5-year-old, very playful, active, sweet and Velcro pup who is both housetrained and crate trained. She sleeps through the night in her crate but would prefer to be with her people. She has not been destructive when left alone in the house but will cry when you leave her. Seven came to MTM from a shelter in VA having been given up after having her last litter of puppies. She is being fostered in Harleysville, PA. Likes: Playing Ball, fetch, tearing apart toys, treats, walks Dislikes: Unknown at this time. Personality: Sweet with an attachment. Seven prefers to be with her human and will cry if separated. She will settle. Seven is sweet and enjoys belly rubs and kisses. She is very playful and will ask for attention. Temperament: Seven went to the salon for a bath, ear cleaning, and nail grind. She did well but was a little nervous. She doesn’t mind her toes being touched and she has not displayed any guarding issues with food or toys. She is a natural watch/guard dog. She will investigate outside and be watchful of things. She notices birds and watches TV. She is very smart and will push boundaries. A strong leader is recommended. Energy Level: Seven enjoys walks and playing ball. She may even be a great running partner or companion to manage your property. She loves the Jolly Ball with the rope! This will save you hours of effort to easily deplete some of her energy. Favorite Activities: Playing fetch, walking, watching TV, sleeping, snuggling lap dog. Cats: Seven has not been tested with Cats. She has shown some interest in small dogs while walking but will actively chase a squirrel or bunny. Seven patrols the yard every night sniffing and looking. Housetrained: Yes. Crate Trained: Yes. Challenges: Seven is true to her breed. She is watchful and has guard tendencies but is very sweet. Once she gets comfortable, she will push boundaries. She has not been tested with another female dog at this time. There is some question as to whether she can live in harmony with another female dog. When walking, she doesn’t seem to have too much interest of other dogs beyond curiosity. Seven is very needy at this time; this may subside after she finds her forever home, however, she is currently a bit pushy for affection, mealtime and will cry/bark to get your attention – especially if you don’t give in! But she will settle when she realizes she won’t win. Medical: Seven has a propensity to get irritation under her chin. Her chin will need to be wiped after drinking/eating to ensure hot spots and acne do not occur. During Seven’s spay, the following was noted: Subcutaneous mass on left side of abdomen beside middle mammary gland. This may need to be addressed in the future. Best home for Seven: Seven is sweet as can be. She walks well and is eager to please and still very playful. She will need a home where there is breed experience, no cats, and no other female dogs. A home where she can run, play, and patrol. She will need to follow an established routine to ensure that she does not become a problem child by taking over. Seven is being fostered in Harleysville, PA. Our rescue policy requires the following:
