About Sassy

Sassy is a beautiful 5 ½ year old Great Pyrenees /St. Bernard mix. She is sweet and loving and devoted to her people. Sassy is house and crate trained and sleeps through the night. Sassy will counter surf a bit but with guidance has decreased that behavior and does not normally take food just likes to look and see what is there. She is fine in the house alone and will relax and chew on a bone for hours. She is heartworm negative and UTD on all her vaccines and is microchipped.

Likes: Sassy likes to hang out with her people and loves playing fetch and enjoys treats.

Dislikes: None found so far.

Personality: Sassy is easygoing and sweet and likes to play with other dogs. She has been exposed to children and is sweet and gentle with them and somewhat aloof.

Temperament: Sassy is not on any meds except her monthly heartworm and flea and tick regimen. She takes meds with no issue. Sassy does not shed much and does not mind being groomed.

Energy level: Sassy enjoys walks and is fairly easy on a leash. She also likes hanging out in the house and laying next to her people.

Favorite activities: Playing fetch and playing with the other dogs.

Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Sassy is good with other dogs and kids over 6yo.

What would be the best kind of home? Sassy’s ideal home would be one that has average activity and people to take her out on walks or spend time with her. She needs a home where the family will love on her and let her know she has found her forever home.

Sassy is being fostered in Walnutport, PA.

Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our funds are used for rescuing the dogs.

Our rescue policy requires the following:

  • Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and parts of New York.
  • We will not adopt a giant breed dog to homes where the dog will have access to highly varnished hardwood steps inside the home. Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit.
  • Methods or devices using pain or force on the dog to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior is prohibited.
  • Applications for giant breed dogs must be submitted by the property owner.
  • Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption.
  • Homes with children should have a fenced yard.
  • Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Veterinary records will be checked.
  • All references must be checked before any visitation of the dog is permitted at the foster home.
  • All family members must be present during the home visit to the applicant's home.
  • Any dog(s) in the applicant's home must have an introductory meeting with the rescue dog being considered, before any adoption can be completed.
  • Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption. Exceptions to this policy can be found on the Adoptable Dog Page.
