English Bulldog (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium
Note: Roxie is an Olde English Bulldog (different than an English Bulldog). Roxie Likes: Roxie LOVES humans of all sizes and shapes. She also loves every single toy that exists and is very fun to play with! Her favorite toy is a tennis ball and is happy to play fetch in the yard! She also does great with interactive treat toys and puzzles. Roxie Dislikes: Roxie’s only dislike is a lot of commotion. She is fearful of loud noises or chaos. However, she does very well when shown that noises and movements aren’t scary. She has been learning that vacuums are not Monsters and many things of that nature! Roxie's Personality: Roxie is a happy go lucky girl. She is always looking for a human’s attention and likes to follow everyone around. She is young so she likes to play but also is a BIG couch potato. In the mornings, She can be found laying on her back, toes in the air, passed out on the couch snoring logs! She wakes up with the cutest sleepy eyes you’ve ever seen! She has shown zero aggressive responses when clipping her nails, cleaning ears, or cleaning wrinkles on her face! Roxie would be perfect for an owner that likes to take their dog everywhere with them and explore the world. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Roxie would get along well with another dog who has medium to low energy. Due to her back leg, she gets very nervous when dogs are high energy and rambunctious. Roxie is dominant, dog selective, and prefers male dogs. A larger calm male dog would be ideal. Roxie loves all kids, however, she is 70lbs and VERY strong/athletic and will need to be adopted by a family with kids that are 8 and older so she does not knock anyone over on accident. Roxie was more prey driven towards chasing cats when she was being fostered with her brother but seems to have calmed down and can be around cats, with proper introductions. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Roxie would love to live in a home with a fenced yard where she can lay in the shade and enjoy her surroundings. She has to wear a harness during walks due to her neck being larger than her head and a collar will come off easily. She will need some training on the leash due to pulling. A home without a fenced in yard would be okay but will need to work with her on leash manners Any Medical issues? At a young age X-rays revealed that she had a already-healed fractured femur midshaft in her right back leg. The vet felt it not appropriate to rebreak and align the femur due to it already being healed. She does walk with a slight limp and will need to be in a home that does not expect vigorous exercise or play. As of now, she is living a happy/ pain free life but this may need to be readdressed in the future. What would be the best kind of home? Roxie’s ideal home would be a low-commotion/medium energy level home with adopters who have large breed or bulldog experience. She would love to have humans with her all the time, giving her the attention she deserves, and loving her cuddles, kisses, and goofy personality. She would not adjust well with commotion of kids constantly running around and being loud. Being the only dog in the home or in a home with a medium-large calm male dog would fit her personality well. She will also need an owner who understands she is at the teenage stage in life and who will put the time in with training and set boundaries in the home for her to be a more well mannered pup!
