Shylah is a 5 year old Bernese Mountain and is a puppy mill rescue. Shylah is great with other dogs; she is still shy with people -- she just needs time and space to adjust. She has shown some willingness to play and run with the other dogs in our house and her tail wags and she has a happy smile once she trusts her new friends. Likes: Shylah likes to observe and watch. She will run around and play with the other dogs when she thinks nobody is looking. Inside she will sit in the laundry room or dining room in a corner and watch. She can be easily handled and is a kind and sweet soul. Personality: She's shy and unsure for now. Temperament: Shylah is fine with vet visits and will take pills either in a pill pocket, a piece of hotdog or a piece of cheese when left in her dish. She likes to eat in private so she tends to eat in her crate. Energy level: Quiet and shy needs to learn to socialize with love. Favorite activities: sitting and watching or hiding in her favorite spots in the house. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Good with dogs and humans. Not good with: there is nothing we have found she is not good with. Our dogs give her love but respect her space as well. Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes and she now uses a doggie door, too! Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? A physical fence is required (Shylah is not a candidate for an invisible fence). Challenges: Shylah needs to gain confidence and trust and learn that love is a good thing. Any Medical issues? None. What would be the best kind of home? A quiet, patient home. Other dogs would be an asset to Shylah. Our rescue policy requires the following:
