Brief description: Cassius is a loving and cuddly dog. He likes to meet people and prefers a gentle introduction. He loves to climb onto you and cuddle up, He does think he's a lap dog. If you pet him he would shower you with kisses. He does prefer the crate to sleep in. He walks nicely on a leash and knows a few commands. He's learning not to greet people by jumping on them and controlling his excitement when he sees his people.
Likes: Cassius loves belly rubs, head scratches and cuddles. He likes to play with toys. He loves to go outside for walks. Most of all he like to cuddle as close to you as he can get (sometimes on you).
Dislikes: None that we know of yet. Hes a little scared of new things; slow introductions seem to take care of that.
Personality: Cassisus is an active dog when outside. Ready to please and get your approval. He loves to be loved on and he has the build for it (hes chunky and not too big)
Temperament: He has no trouble at all with grooming, checking the feet, checking the teeth. He is not picky about food or toys. He is happy outside and inside the house. He likes to sleep in his crate.
Energy level: He is not high energy but not calm either. He reads off you. When we want him to play he does, otherwise he lies down and chills.
Favorite activities: He likes to walk and play ball (even if it is by himself).
Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6?: He is good with children. He is okay with other dog in the house and he is not good with cats.
Not good with: Cassius is a bit scared of new things. Loud noises and new people gets him to hide. When introduced slowly he comes around. He's still learning all that this world is made up of.
Crate trained: Yes
Challenges: Cassius is getting used to being loved and being a part of a family. This makes him very happy and excited and he jumps and sometimes can be mouthy. We are working with him to let him know that jumping on people is not okay, and that mouthing is not a behavior appreciated.
Any Medical issues? None that we know of.
What would be the best kind of home? Cassius would fit into a home that has adults and older kids (because he jumps). A family that is patient and willing to help him discover the world around him would be ideal.
