Danny is the softest, wiggliest, smartest English Mastiff pup. He learns quickly and has started obedience training. He is already crate and house trained. He will get your attention to go outside without having an accident in the house. He has met kids, cats and other dogs and loves everyone he meets.

Danny came to Mastiffs to Mutts Rescue from an Amish breeder.  After being evaluated by a specialist, Danny was diagnosed with mild Wobblers Syndrome.

For information on wobblers syndrome, see https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/wobbler-syndrome-in-dogs-cervical-spondylomyopathy.

Likes: Everything. Danny is learning to be a dog. He loves romping with the other dogs in his foster home. He loves laying on a soft dog bed and chewing on a toy. He’s meeting cats and learning they do not like to be snuffled.

Dislikes: During the day he would rather be with his foster family than in his crate, but he is quiet in the crate and can entertain himself with a crate safe toy.

Personality: Danny is goofy, loving, and adorable. He is a fast learner and very willing to please. He loves to make people laugh and will lean in for a long hug if his ears get a good rubbing.

Temperament: He is interested in every new experience. He is calm in the tub and accepts all touching, just don’t mind the wiggles because he loves attention.

Energy level: Typical puppy. He will romp and play then crash for a good long nap.

Favorite activities: Playing in the yard with his Bulldog buddy and stealing the prime chew toys from the Terrier’s bed. He loves hugs and ear rubs.

Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6?: Yes! Danny came was a clean slate, having never met anyone or anything. With each new meeting his world is expanding and he is finding more friends to play with.

Not good with: haven’t found anything

Housetrained: Yes. He will get your attention when he needs to go out without having an accident in the house.

Crate trained: yes. He has started going in on his own. He can be whiney during the day, but he settles down and does not stress or fight the crate. His crate is always clean and dry in the morning.

Challenges: Each new experience will need to be introduced in a positive manner.

Any Medical issues? Danny has low grade Wobblers.

What would be the best kind of home? Danny has started obedience training and really enjoys it. He would love a family that will continue his training. He’d be happy in a home with just a human family or with a canine playmate. He tries to play with cats too, so he’ll need to be watched so that he doesn’t play rough.

Danny is being fostered in DeGraff, Ohio.

Puppy Adoption Policy:

To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.

Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized prior to 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.
