Mark came into the rescue on 11/10/20. He came from a different rescue volunteer in New Jersey. Several years ago, he had eye surgery to correct Cherry eyes. His sutures came out on the right eye so he is going to have that corrected. It was said that he was very shy and fearful and will hide from you. I did not find this at all. He has been by my side since I got him and loves attention. He was the perfect gentleman at the Veterinary Hospital where he went for a checkup. They were very impressed with him. He gets along fine with my three dogs who are very laid back. Enjoys being outdoors in a fenced in area. Mark is low energy and loves snuggling up in a chair. He doesn’t seem to pay attention to toys. Mark is housebroken. Likes: Cuddles, naps, food, treats and riding in the car Dislikes: Dry dog food. Will eat it if it is mixed with wet food Personality: Mark is very laid back and low energy. Does get excited about going outside and becomes very vocal. He walks well on a leash. Loves to be pet. Loves his naps although he gets up frequently to check on you. He barks at strangers but is fine when they approach him. Snores like a champion! He is great in the house when left unattended. Have not felt the need to crate him. Great with bathing, ear cleaning and eye drops. Not so with nail trimming - lays on his back moving his paws away from you. As with most mastiffs, a slobber cloth comes in handy! Knows basic commands like sit, down and shake. Greets you enthusiastically when you come home. No jumping. Temperament: Good Energy Level: Low. Favorite Activities: Going outside, eating, napping Good with dogs, cats, birds, adults. Not good with: children. He growls at them. House trained: yes Crate Trained: Haven’t used a crate with him. He is fine unattended in the house. Challenges: nail trimming is a two person job Medical Issues: Surgery to correct his Cherry eye will be done prior to his adoption. Mark will do well in a household that has very laid back dogs and a big chair for his naps. Fostered in Eagleville, PA Our rescue policy requires the following:
