English Mastiff : : Male
Waylon is a 2 ½ year old beautiful brindle male mastiff that is seeking a life-long relationship with a single owner or a couple. He can’t wait to restart his new life with someone that wants a 175 pound furry love bug. Likes: Waylon likes his fuzzy toys, car rides, ice cubes & baths. Dislikes: He doesn’t like to be alone but he’s doing good w/his foster dog sister keeping him company. The nanny cam shows him mostly sleeping all day. He is very selective w/strangers and will need slow supervised introductions. Waylon is not a fan of kids. His behavior has proven to be unpredictable with them as he has expressed aggression towards them. Personality: Waylon is very laid back and super affectionate. He loves to sit on top of of his foster mom and smother her with his kisses. Temperament: He’s pretty good on a leash, does pull a bit at first but then settles down. No problems doing his ears or nails. Not a counter surfer or garbage hound at all. Energy level: Waylon likes to lounge around but he will be right by your side the moment you leave the room to make sure you aren’t going for a treat. He’ll play with his toys by himself. Favorite activities: Other than lounging, Waylon’s favorite activity is being as close to his person as he can get to show them how much he loves them. Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6: He gets along well with his canine foster sister. He will play if she wants to play but is content to ignore her as well. He will chase the cat if it moves but will ignore it if he’s just laying around. Not good with: Slow introductions needed. He is NOT good with kids of any age. House trained: Yes Crate trained: Unsure, we didn’t need to use one Challenges: Waylon likes to vocalize and barks if he hears any kind of noise. He likes to bark at the neighbor dogs through the fence but even though he could probably easily get over the fence he doesn’t even try. Due to his bite history with children he will not be placed in a home with children or child visitors. He should be not taken in to public or parks where the possibility of children may be present. Any Medical Issues: Waylon currently has happy tail that his foster is working on helping to heal. He also has a growth on one of his back ties that is being evaluated at by the vet. What would be the best kind of home: Waylon requires a stable home that doesn’t have a lot of people traffic. Someone that will be around to shower him with the love and affection he will want to give back to you. Fostered in Erie, PA.
