Mr. Clean is an English Mastiff, Staffie, DDB mix that came to our rescue when he was 10 days old. His mom had complications from a Caesarean section and the owners turned 11 puppies over to the rescue. He was adopted by a family on 9/12/20. Several days after he was adopted, he was attacked by one of the owner’s dogs, grabbed and thrown down onto cement. He was taken for emergency care and was diagnosed with a displaced skull fracture and it was noted that he was blind. He has since regained partial vision and it is hopeful, he will regain more. When he first arrived at the foster’s home, he had a huge bump on the right side of his skull. This has gone down tremendously. His skull fracture is stable, and no treatment is necessary except for crate rest with limited activities and an E collar. He is current undergoing crate rest in Eagleville, PA. He is a beautiful boy. His eyes are gorgeous! He will be available for adoption at the conclusion of his crate rest.
Dislikes: Does not like riding in a crate in the car
Personality: He is a typical happy puppy. Very friendly. Likes to give kisses. Has wonderful puppy breath! Wants to play and be active. Likes being outside. Doing very well with housebreaking. Goes to the door when he needs to go out but like any toddler in training, accidents can happen. Learning to walk with a leash. Tends to be a little mouthy when playing but responds well to correction.
Temperament: Good with adults and kids over age 6. Likes dogs of all sizes. Not tested with cats. Her foster had birds and he just ignores them. Great with Vet visits and handling.
Energy Level: Would like to have full freedom to run around and play like a puppy but still on crate restrictions from injury- LOVES when it is time to be liberated for short periods of time!
Great with kids over 6. Good with dogs and birds. Has never seen a cat.
Not good with: Nothing discovered so far
House trained: Doing very well, goes to the door and barks. Since he is still young, he has a few accidents
Crate Trained: Yes
Challenges: He is learning some very basic commands like no and sit. He will need to be taught the basics of obedience. He will require a basic obedience class per contract.
Medical Issues: healing fracture of skull, visual impairment and he does have a small umbilical hernia, will need to be neutered when age appropriate
Mr. Clean love kids, so a family with kids over the age of 6 would be great. He needs to be socialized with other people and dogs so an active family would work well.
Fostered in Eagleville, PA.
