Athena is a calm, quiet and loving dog. She is a Velcro dog and follows you around the house or anywhere you go. She walks well on a leash. Comes when called and knows her basic commands. She sits still for her brushing. She is a bit shy when you first meet her and takes her time getting to know you.
Likes:
More than anything she loves to be with you. She is highly treat-motivated. She loves to be by your side. Occasionally she will lick you to make sure you know she is still there. Likes being outside.
Dislikes: Does not like to be left alone will need someone to work with her confidence
Personality : She is very gentle andcalm. She is a bit shy in new surroundings.
Temperament: She is no trouble at all with grooming, checking her ears,trimming her nails. Very content as long as her people are around.
Energy level: Walks very well on a leash. No pulling, no running after squirrels, just a pleasure to walk and appears to have a low prey drive.
Favorite activities : She likes to run around with other dogs her size, she loves to walk with you.
Good with cats, dogs, and children over 6: She gets along well with dogs, plays really well with dogs her size. No children. Not cat tested.

Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.
To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.
