Telly is an adorable, intelligent puppy that is eager to please. In the few days she’s been with us she has learned to live with both large and small dogs and cats, which she’d never seen before. Telly is working on her house and crate training and although not perfect is making great progress in such a short time. Telly was not socialized or trained in her first six months, so she has a lot to learn, but also hasn’t been taught any bad habits. Likes: treats, attention, and the couch Dislikes: she occasionally grumbles if a dog gets too in her face Personality: all puppy Temperament: very food motivated, lets you clip her nails, clean her ears and be handled, she was squirmy but well-behaved with the vet Energy level: typical puppy; playtime followed by long naps Favorite activities: being with the family Good with: dogs and cats Not good with: was told not good with young children but have not verified that Housetrained: working on it Crate trained: she’ll bark for a while when crated at night but then will sleep through the night Challenges: Telly is still learning to be a dog, she is sometimes skittish but overall friendly and playful Any Medical issues: no What would be the best kind of home for Telly? Her new family would need to be understanding and patient. Telly is not yet house or crate trained and had a lot to learn about the world and being a dog.

Puppy Adoption Policy: Puppies will be adopted out on a 'Foster to Adopt' basis. This means that if/when your application is approved to adopt, you sign a contract stating you are fostering the puppy until the time it is neutered/spayed at your expense. Giant breed puppies should be not be spayed/neutered before 12 months of age. All non-giant breed puppies must be spayed/neutered by the age of 6 months, unless otherwise recommended by your veterinarian. We will amend the Foster-to-Adopt contract to make the puppy legally yours, only when we receive a spay/neuter certificate from you or your veterinarian. If the puppy is not spayed/neutered as required, we will take possession of the puppy once again.

Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.
To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.
