Brief description: Poppy came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Poppy is 22 months old and weighs 95 pounds, every ounce of her is full of puppy love. She came to the rescue with kisses to give and loves getting them back. Likes: kisses and love Dislikes: If Poppy is bored she will sometimes dig outside. Personality: Poppy is very outgoing and loves to meet new people. Poppy is the definition of “mans best friend”. She is a loving pup and prefers to be VelcroEd to her humans. Temperament: She does well on a leash, jumps in a car just fine, takes treats nicely, sits, shakes and gives kisses on command. Energy level: She is goofy and full of energy, loves toys and playing chase. She can be rambunctious as times. Favorite activities: She loves to be outside with her people Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6?: good with dogs and kids over 6 Not good with: she will chase cats Housetrained: yes Crate trained: yes Challenges: Poppy LOVES meeting new people and will sometimes jump up on them Any Medical issues? none known What would be the best kind of home? Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.
To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.
