Brief Description : Luna is a 5 year-old female Neapolitan Mastiff. She is spayed and microchipped. She has a laid back personality and gets along with everyone and every animal she meets Likes: Cuddles, lounging around, sniffing around in the back yard, meeting new people Dislikes : Crates! Personality : Incredibly sweet, confident, sociable, overall happy disposition Temperament: Gentle, easy going, mellow, goes with the flow. Energy Level: Low. Prefers short walks or leisurely walking in the back yard. Favorite Activities : Laying beside people, sniffing out food, chewing on toys. Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6? Great with cats - ignores Great with dogs - plays with if initiated, but otherwise is indifferent Gentle with kids Not good with : Walking on leash - she prefers to go where she wants to go Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained : No, although she will not potty in the crate, she likes to tell you how much she doesn’t want to be crated very loudly and for a very long time Challenges : none - she has dealt with all things with great strides Any Medical Issues : Luna has allergies and can suffer from skin/ear infections if they are not under control. Luna has limited vision in her left eye due to corneal abrasions and will need daily eye drops due to dry eye. Luna will need Apoquel during the spring and summer months (fall and winter is unknown at this time). What would be the best kind of home : Luna really would do well in any home. She is well rounded. Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.
To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.
