English Mastiff : : Male
Brief description: Bentley is a good ol’ boy! This big guy is 5 years young and weighs 190 pounds, he is crate trained, house trained and knows many commands. Bentley prefers to be with people, but when left alone, he roams around freely and stays out of trouble. He came to us from North Dakota, you can tell he was loved on, he loves right back. Maybe he was surrendered because he needed ACL surgery and it was too much for his family. Bentley is currently recovering from said surgery and is excited to meet his new family! Dislikes: Will need to test with larger dogs. Does fine with smaller dogs, but wasn’t fond of a large male dog at his home. Will re-test once he is done recovering from his ACL surgery. Personality: laid back, loving, sweet Temperament: takes meds with food, will let you clean ears and trim nails. Loves walks and does great on a leash. Bentley will do okay at the vet as long as he has his people with him, otherwise, he will try to run away, or hide. Uses a ramp which is helpful during transporting. Energy level: We can’t wait to see!! He loves being outside and playing with toys, but due to his ACL bothering him, I don’t think we have seen his true self. So far, his recovery is going great and we look forward to watching him bounce back!! Favorite activities: Laying in the sun, playing with kids, playing with his foster brothers. Loves people and isn’t afraid to beg for belly rubs. Has not been cat tested, good with small dogs, hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like (all ages). Not good with male great dane, would bark and grumpy growl. 100% housetrained Doesn’t need to be crated, but currently have him crated due to ACL surgery recovery. But will go right in when told to do so, no whining, doesn’t try to get out. Challenges: Medical issues: Best kind of home: once he is large dog tested, and cat tested. He will thrill anywhere!!! He might be perfect. Fostered in Lewis Center, OH.
