Cane Corso Mastiff / Bullmastiff : : Male Learn more about the Bullmastiff.
Mack is very much a lovebug. He loves everyone he meets. He adapts easily to his surroundings, has a sweet disposition and loves to snuggle. He is getting better at crate training. At first, he didn’t like to go into his crate, but we have been working with him and now he will go in himself but only for a few seconds. He goes in his cage while we are away but he’s only been in a couple of hours of at a time. Now when we get home, he doesn’t bolt to get out of his cage. If you don’t have a heavy duty cage, he will escape. At first he can be a little timid but soon warms up to you. He attaches very quickly to people. He has no food aggression and is tolerable around toys. He is housebroken and goes outside with the other dogs to exercise. He loves to sleep with you if you let him. He will sleep on a dog bed if not allowed in your bed. Walking on a leash can be challenging if there are other dogs that bark at him. He reacts but only in a playful way, I believe, by pulling. If no other dogs are around, he walks very well on the leash with slack always in the leash. You won’t get many “may I pet your dog” with him, as I have noticed. Don’t let his looks fool you. He may look big and mean but a sweetheart of a dog. He has the ability to have a real deep bark which matches his looks. He can also have a high pitch yippy bark which I believe to be when he want to play or wants attention. A bad thing he does is he likes to counter surf. You will have to make sure to keep your counters clear of food. If not, he will help himself to whatever food is on the counter. Another bad habit is that he likes to go through the trash. Mack is a very socialized guy and would benefit greatly from a companion. He loves everyone who he meets.
