Brief description: Natalia is a 3 year spayed female Newfoundland. She is on the smaller side weighing only 86lbs. She has a smaller/thinner build but the typical Newfie personality. She came to us from a puppy mill but she is surprisingly social with people. Likes: Other dogs, being brushed, cuddling Dislikes: vacuum cleaner, loud noises, barking dogs she can’t see (will bark back defensively) Personality: sweet, laid back/easy going, reserved/timid Temperament: easily handled, quiet, Energy level: low energy most of the time. Mainly just likes to lay around but does run and play Favorite activities: lounging around, cuddling, getting brushed, eating, playing with other dogs Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6?: Good with dogs. Has done well meeting new adults just a little shy. Met children on a walk well but does not live with any children Not good with: unknown with cats. Foster home has a cat but stays in her own room and has not interacted fully with Natalia Housetrained:mostly Crate trained: yes Challenges: given she is an extra large dog, when she gets nervous and shuts down, she can be difficult to get around. She currently needs picked up to get into the car. Daily grooming/brushing is usually needed- she does well and enjoys it but can take some time Any Medical issues? Currently in good health but adopter should be aware of typical Newfoundland medical concerns What would be the best kind of home?a home with Newfie experience, someone who has the time to work with her on socializing her in a positive manner.

Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.
To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months.
