Great Pyrenees : : Male Learn more about the Great Pyrenees.
Brief description: Dandy is a goofy, fluffy puppy who was surrendered to a shelter for being too big for the baby in the house. He is a purebred Great Pyrnees and at 4 months old is currently 45lbs. Dandy will grow up to be a big boy-likely over 100lbs- and his new family should be prepared for his large size. He is full of puppy energy and can’t wait to meet his new family who will continue to introduce him to new fun experiences in a positive manner and he can learn how to be a puppy/dog.
Likes: other dogs, playing, playing in puddles, giving big slobbery kisses
Dislikes: going in his crate- will need work on that in his new home-, getting in the car- also needs more positive experiences.
Personality: Goofy, playful, puppy energy, eager to learn,
Temperament: easily handled, enjoys meeting new people and experiencing new things
Energy level: Giant puppy!!
Favorite activities: playing with other dogs, playing with toys, running in the yard
Good with: Dogs, people
Not good with: possibly not cats-hasn’t meet the cat in the foster home face to face yet but was growling at her through a baby gate. He may just not know what a cat is yet and was scared of it.
Housetrained: work in progress
Crate trained: work in progress
Challenges: At 4 months old Dandy will need an owner dedicated to continuing positive socialization so challenges don’t occur in the future. It is key to work with him now before he gets too large
Any Medical issues? Currently in good health but adopter will need to be aware of basic health concerns for the breed and maintenance needs- ie lots of shedding and regular grooming will be necessary
What would be the best kind of home for Dandy? A home knowledgeable of raising a giant breed puppy. Great Pyrenees experience would be ideal. Active and eager to help a puppy grow
