My name is Cambrie and my foster dad calls me a giant marshmallow. I think it's because I'm big, cuddly, and super sweet. I've heard him tell other people that I'm the most well-behaved dog he's ever been around, but I'm not sure about that. I'm 135 pounds and not at all sensitive about my weight, though I do eat like a lady. A lady who slobbers and drops her food on the floor that is. At least I'm not food aggressive. Once I've had time to get trust a human, I'll let them do just about anything. My foster dad cleaned my ears because they were a little red. It hurt a little, but I know he was helping me. I even let him trim my nails without a fuss. Who doesn't like a pedicure?

Actually, I'm not aggressive at all. The other day, my foster dad brought me to the vet just to socialize with some people there and a dachshund in a diaper scared me. I had to hide behind my dad until that limping menace went away. I just want to get along with everybody. Except cows. Those things have hidden agendas I tell you. There are some a few hundred yards from my foster home and I bark when I see them. They're just about the only things I bark at though. I'm telling you. Those things are dangerous.

My foster dad has been trying to get me to play, but I think he's finally starting to understand that I just want to be loved up on. Sometimes, for fun, I'll go take away the toy another dog is playing with. Usually I just put it down somewhere else. Dad calls it the "I don't want it but you can't have it" game. My foster parents think it's hilarious. I do like to shred things. Ropes, tennis balls, and stuffies have all become my victims. Dad even bought me a toy made for doggos who like to shred. It was supposed to last me a long time, but he timed it at 37 seconds. I've never eaten or shredded anything that belongs to my foster parents though. That would be wrong and I just want to make them happy. That's why I sometimes sit in their laps.

My foster parents say that I'm lazy with a capital Z! I really like to just lay around. Better yet, I'll come up and visit you on the couch and fall asleep with my head in your lap. Also, I don't jump. I'm a pretty tall girl, so if I can't step into something, I don't need to go there. Jumping is just more work! My foster dad has to pick me up to get me into his truck because my back legs just don't quite reach. Sometimes I think that's the only time he gets mad at me, but it seems like he's smiling when he lifts my butt to get me in there.

I LOVE attention. But only if I know you and I'm comfortable around you. Strangers scare me, and I'll hide behind my foster dad or mom with my tail between my legs. It takes me a long time to get used to people, other dogs, stairs... I guess, really, it takes me a long time to get comfortable with any changes. My foster dad has had me for just about a month and I'm finally showing him who I really am. He and mom have left me out of my crate with their other two dogs and I behave pretty well. I don't like to be apart from them though, and I spread all of their dog toys out throughout the house because I get anxious. I don't want to be left alone. It's OK if I'm with other dogs, but my foster dad thinks I wouldn't do so well if I were left all by myself with nothing to keep me company. I do like my crate if I'm scared, and I'll stay in there and behave if you go away, but I'd prefer it outside my crate.

I'm not too sure about kids. They have so much ENERGY! My foster mom's daughter comes to visit and even though I know her and she would never hurt me, sometimes she scares me. She's just so bouncy and loud and all over the place. I think my forever home should be quiet and consistent. I'd really prefer it if someone was almost always home, but I know people have to do things. My foster parents tried to bring me and their other two dogs to a friends house, but they had dogs too and I was afraid. I did NOT want to get out of the car. I'm glad they didn't force me. I don't like to be afraid of things, even though I'm afraid of so much! My foster mom and dad don't want to give me up, but they say I deserve a place that's perfect for me. I trust them to do what's best.
